As I originally mentioned on the PeerBlock 1.0 download page, I'm planning on organizing a little get-together for those of you living in the New York City area.  Nothing too extravagant, just meeting up for a few drinks to celebrate the release of PeerBlock 1.0.  If we get a respectable turnout, maybe we can actually reserve a place and have a big ol' party to celebrate our next release...!

Where?  When?

Here's how it's going to go down.  I'll be at The Ginger Man (11 East 36th St,) this Friday, October 2nd, starting at 9:30 PM.   Since we won't exactly be having a greeter meeting you at the door or anything, and I doubt any of the people working there will have even heard of PeerBlock, what I'll do is update this news post with a picture of myself earlier that day.  Once you make your way to the bar, find me and I'll let you know what other PeerBlock users are there!

Find this guy!

When you get to the place tonight, look for this guy - it's me, Mark Bulas!

If you click on the picture you'll see a different pic of me, not just my face.  I'll update this page later on tonight to better reflect how I'll look while we're out, to make it easier to find me and everyone else who's out for PeerBlock, but for now this should at least give you an idea as to who to look for...

Sound alright?

I know - no laser show, no booth babes, not really all that much of a plan, but that's what I've got at this point.

Based on our web stats, we appear to have a few thousand users in the New York City area.  No idea how many of those people would be interested in something like this, but I figured it was worth a shot.  My wife's been giving me a hard time about it, telling me that I'm gonna be all alone there - and really it could be awesome or it could be ridiculously lame - but even in the worst case scenario it's still a good excuse to go Out on a Friday Night!

So . . . are you in?

So if you're up for stopping by and hanging out with some like-minded PeerBlock users, send me an email to let me know!  Or just stop by, it's all good...  Come by yourself, round up a posse, bring a date, whatever you like.  It'll be fun, I promise!
